Dr James Daveson

Dr Daveson graduated in medicine from the University of Queensland in 1993. He undertook his physician training at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s and Princess Alexandra Hospitals in Brisbane and was awarded his Fellowship of the College of Physicians in 2007. He received the Queensland Gastroenterology Society Young Investigator of the Year award in 2009 and the Royal Australasian College of Physicians National Congress Blackwell Publishing Clinical Excellence Award in 2007. Post fellowship James attended Jichi Medical University in Japan to observe training in Double Balloon Endoscopy to complement his use of capsule endoscopy for imaging of the small bowel and to enhance his interests in small bowel disease.
Over the last three years whilst completing his Research Higher Degree he has been involved in research facilitating the reintroduction of parasites into people with Coeliac Disease in an attempt to modulate the immune response. James joined the Clinical Advisory Committee of the Coeliac Research Fund in 2010.
