Educational Series – Eosinophilic oesophagitis in adults – diagnosis and management

This publication is intended as an educational resource for healthcare professionals managing adult patients with eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE). EoE should be considered as a differential diagnosis in adult patients presenting with dysphagia, food impaction and/or persistent heartburn and upon diagnosis, effective treatment should be initiated to achieve histologic remission, improve symptoms and associated quality of life, and reduce the risk of long-term complications.

It also provides commentary from Associate Professor Hamish Philpott, a staff specialist in the Northern Adelaide Local Health Network (NALHN – Modbury and Lyell McEwin Hospitals) and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Adelaide.
