Dr Mark Nolan

Dr Mark Nolan

Mark Nolan is a Non-Invasive Cardiologist working at Western Health and the Peter Mac Cancer Centre in Melbourne, as well as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at the Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute. He has completed an Echocardiography Fellowship in Adelaide, Cardiac MRI and CT Fellowship in Toronto, and also a Cardio-Oncology Fellowship in Toronto. His PhD thesis examined the optimal use of cardiac imaging to guide treatment in cancer patients. He has first-author publications in Journal of American College of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Imaging, Journal of American College of Cardiology: CardioOncology and American Journal of Cardiology. His professional interests also include Cardio-Diabetology and Health Economics, and he has published in both of these fields. His recreational interests include bush walking in the Mornington Peninsula and reading about classical history. Professor Andrew Coats

Professor Andrew Coats

Andrew was born and schooled in Melbourne and studied medicine at Oxford and Cambridge. He has more than 110,000 citations, and an H-index of 141. He served as Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Cardiology from 1999 to 2016. Andrew published the first randomised trial of exercise training for CHF. Andrew has been Chairman or Committee member of multiple major clinical trials. He has served as Head of Cardiology at Imperial College and Royal Brompton Hospital, London, as Dean of Medicine and Deputy Vice-President at the University of Sydney, and as Joint Academic Vice-President of the University of Warwick, UK, and Monash University, Australia. Professor John Atherton

Professor John Atherton

Professor John Atherton, Director of Cardiology at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Professor, University of Queensland and Adjunct Professor, Queensland University of Technology. He previously chaired the Asia-Pacific Acute Decompensated Heart Failure Registry SAC and the CSANZ Heart Failure Council. He has been an appointed member of the Australian Government Medical Services Advisory Committee and sat on the National Heart Foundation Heart Failure Guidelines executive writing group. Research interests include investigating novel methods to detect presymptomatic cardiac disease and cardiac genetics.
