Speaker Series – Disease modifying therapies in cystic fibrosis

This review is a summary of a recent speaker event featuring a talk by Professor Felix Ratjen and Professor Barry Plant in Sydney in August 2018.

Professor Ratjen discussed identifying and treating early lung disease in children with cystic fibrosis (CF), while Professor Plant discussed optimising the clinical use of CF transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulator therapy.

Professor Plant is a Consultant Respiratory Physician, Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine and the Director of the Adult CF Centre at Cork University Hospital, Ireland. Professor Ratjen is the Division Chief of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) in Canada and Professor of Paediatrics at the University of Toronto.
