Educational Series - Cardiovascular risk in type 2 diabetes

This review is intended as an educational resource for healthcare professionals. It discusses the link between type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and cardiovascular disease (CVD), how healthcare professionals and their patients can control the
multiple risk factors associated with CVD and T2DM, and how best to meet therapy goals for T2DM and CVD. The review presents peer-reviewed clinical trial evidence with accompanying expert commentary on the use of pharmacological treatments used to reduce illness and death from CVD in people with T2DM.
