Educational Series: Hypoglycaemia and cardiovascular risk in diabetes

This review is intended as an educational resource for health professionals. It presents a background on hypoglycaemia in patients with diabetes including burden and risk factors, then goes on to discuss evidence for the association of hypoglycaemia and cardiovascular risk and describes potential mechanisms for this association.

Independent commentary by Associate Professor Neale Cohen, a physician specialising in Diabetes and Endocrinology, and is the General Manager of Diabetes Services at the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at RMIT University, Melbourne.
