This article summarises speaker presentations by Assoc. Prof. Huyen Tran (Melbourne), Dr Andrew Wong (Brisbane), Dr Cecily Forsyth (Gosford), and Prof. Jeff Szer (Melbourne) that were given during the symposium ‘Management of Thrombosis in the Non-Malignant Haematology Patient’, which was held in Sydney on 16th May 2015. The topics covered in these presentations were anticoagulation options in the management of venous thromboembolism, the status of thrombolysis today and in the future, an update on the Australian Paroxysmal Nocturnal Haemoglobinuria (PNH) Registry, and the intricacies of managing pregnancy in patients with PNH illustrated by way of a retrospective analysis of data from the International PNH Registry.
