This review is a summary of a recent speaker event held in Sydney at the World Congress on Cancers of the Skin 2018.
The meeting delivered practical case-based discussions to highlight key considerations in the biology, diagnosis, management, and referral of MCC patients and discussed recent advances in the systemic management of metastatic MCC.
Presenters included Professor Mark Shackleton Director of Oncology at The Alfred; Dr Victoria Mar, Director of the Victorian Melanoma Service at The Alfred; Dr Kerwin Shannon, Consultant Head and Neck Surgeon at the Chris O’Brien Lifehouse Cancer Centre, Professor Michael Poulsen, Senior Radiation Oncologist at the Mater Campus in South Brisbane; and Associate Professor Alexander Guminski, an Oncologist working at Royal North Shore Hospital, Melanoma Institute of Australia in Sydney and the Mater Hospital Sydney.
