As part of our ongoing aim to bring you reports of new developments, we have added a study review of an unblinded, randomised, non-inferiority-controlled trial, FARES II, that compared the efficacy and safety of prothrombin complex concentrate versus frozen plasma in adult patients undergoing cardiac surgery who developed coagulopathic bleeding.
Independent commentary for the review has been provided by Associate Professor Jenny Curnow, Director of Clinical Haematology at Westmead hospital in Western Sydney, Australia, and Director of the Westmead Haemophilia Treatment Centre.
