Clinical A/Prof Anna Johnston

Anna is a staff specialist haematologist at the Royal Hobart Hospital, Head of Clinical Haematology
and the Tasmanian Statewide Bone Marrow Transplant service. She trained in Sydney, Canberra and
France before returning to Hobart in 2011. Her main research interest is haematological malignancy,
particularly lymphoma and supportive care.
Anna is an active member of the Australasian Leukaemia and Lymphoma Group (ALLG) and a member
of the low grade lymphoma and supportive care disease committees. Anna is a principal investigator
for the PETReA study which is investigating PET-adapted therapy in post-induction treatment of
follicular lymphoma. She was successful with her co-investigators in obtaining a NHMRC grant to
enable expansion of this international study in Australia. Anna enjoys the challenge of diagnosis and
management of a broad range of haematologic disorders including malignancies and benign disorders.
