Liz Volker

Liz Volker

Liz graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing from University of Western Sydney in 1995, and completed a graduate registered nurse year at Royal North Shore Hospital in 1996. In 1998 Liz was a student midwife doing a Graduate Diploma of Midwifery through University of Canberra while working in rural and city hospitals. She became an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant in 2007, and has extensive registered nursing and midwifery experience. Liz completed a Certificate in Neonatal Special Care Nursing in 2008, followed by a Masters of Midwifery in 2014. In 2015, Liz started working as a general practice nurse. She is an accredited nurse immuniser and has qualifications in chronic disease management and wound management. In 2015 Liz started working as a sessional lecturer. Professor Gerard Gill

Professor Gerard Gill

Professor Gill graduated in medicine from the University of Tasmania in 1975 and after internship at the Royal Hobart Hospital, and further hospital experience at Geelong Hospital and in the Rotating Residency Program in Melbourne, entered general practice in the northern suburbs of Launceston in 1980. While in practice he gained a Diploma in Obstetrics, and the Fellowships of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine. He was one of the ten sponsored Master of Applied Epidemiology in General Practice Evaluation scholars from 1994–6 at the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian National University. In 2002 he was awarded a National Health and Medical Research Council Medical Postgraduate Scholarship and completed his doctoral thesis in 2006. .. read more »
