Dr Melanie Matthews

Dr Matthews graduated from medicine at the University of Melbourne in 2010 and spent her junior doctor years at the Austin and Northern Hospitals in Melbourne. Melanie participated in both the John Flynn Scholarship Scheme and the Pre-vocational GP Placement Programs in remote Northern Territory which cemented her desire to pursue rural General Practice training in 2015.  She has gained Fellowships of General Practice and Rural Generalism from the Royal Australian College of General Practice and has recently completed a Master of Public Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Melanie continues to practice in remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in the Northern Territory.
