Dr Michael Allen

Dr Michael Allen

Dr Michael Allen is a Senior Staff Specialist in medical oncology at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Queensland. He completed his oncology training in south-east Queensland before pursuing a clinical research fellowship in upper gastrointestinal malignancies at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada. Dr Allen has a Master of Public Health from Monash University and holds the academic position of Senior Lecturer with the Griffith University School of Medicine and Dentistry. He is actively involved in clinical research and has been principal investigator on numerous trials. Dr Allen’s research interests include hepatobiliary, gastroesophageal and colorectal malignancies, population health outcomes and real-world data. He is a member of GI Cancer Trials (formally AGITG) contributing to the medical oncology sub-committee and is also a member of the International Cholangiocarcinoma Research Network (ICRN) and the Queensland Cancer Clinical Network (QCaCN).
